Tullamore
Tullamore is the county town or capital of county Offaly and is the biggest town outside Dublin on the Grand Canal.
With an attractive town square, abundance of shops for those looking for retail therapy and the magnificent Charleville Forest Castle, Tullamore is simply a great place to visit.
Steeped in ancient history, attractions surrounding the present day Tullamore include Clonmacnoise ancient monastic settlement, Durrow and Rahon monastic settlements, SlieveBloomNational Park and the Tullamore Dew heritage centre.
This Whiskey Distillery Museum with interactive exhibition, retail gift shop, coffee shop, full bar and restaurant facility with live traditional music and the home of Tullamore Dew and Irish mist Liqueur is a great start off spot for hen parties.
For the competitive sporting type that like something different, there’s a Rifle range that caters for recreational and competitive groups.
The area also caters for those who like the adrenalin rush with plenty of water sports, Canoeing, Kayaking, skiing, sub aqua diving and canal cruises to mention but a few. Tullamore also has a skate park and during the summer has hot air balloon festivals. Hill walking, horse riding and 10 pin bowling are available in the area.
There are some great hotels and budget accommodation and many fine restaurants, pubs and night clubs.
Tullamore certainly wont disappoint the hen party girl.
