Charleville in North Cork was founded in 1661. It is located on the Glen tributary river which flows into the Maigue River in County Limerick and is located in Ballyhoura country - so called after the Ballyhoura Mountains.

Charleville is the second largest town between Cork City and Limerick and sits on the N20 Road. It also has a rail service connecting Cork, Limerick and Dublin. The area surrounding the Town is known as the Golden Vale and has been the centre of the cheese making industry in the Munster region for many decades.

Cork people are really friendly and none more so than the Charleville bunch - they'll make you feel right at home.

You probably won't run into any other henparties which a good thing for those of you who want to have a place to themselves. It's a small town but it does have a few good pubs where the drink flows.

One of the most amazing Castles in the Country is in Charleville and is a must for anyone with an interest in historical buildings.

Charleville Castle which is under the control of the Charleville Castle heritage trust sits in the middle of a 2000 acre demesne. The restoration of this fantastic building is carried out by a group of dedicated volunteers.

If you're feeling energetic maybe go walking or cycling in the nearby Ballyhoura Mountains.

The town itself has many fine pubs many serving food and a 4 star hotel with restaurant and spa centre.
Charleville is an ideal destination for those that are interested in starting the day with a round of golf.
