Carlingford on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough, the capital of the Cooley Peninsula, lies in an area of outstanding beauty, boasting spectacular coastal and mountain scenery.
It is regarded as one of Ireland’s foremost medieval towns- a sea port and market town with winding narrow streets and still enhanced with castles and historical buildings bearing witness to it's centuries old history.

For the less energetic, why not spend some time in the local shops including ladies fashion, crafts and jewellery.
For the evening session, there are excellent Italian, gourmet and authentic traditional restaurants, tea rooms and delis.
