Welcome to Wicklow
County Wicklow on the east coast is less than an hour south of Dublin city centre with commuter links by rail, bus and motorway.
Known as the garden of Ireland, County Wicklow is one of Ireland's truly scenic treasures with its magnificent mountains and hills, long sandy beaches, rivers and lakes. It is the perfect Henparty destination.
There are attractions to suit every group, from indoor fun centres and amusement arcades, bowling and virtual golf, challenging indoor games to a wide variety of arts and crafts that takes in art galleries, plays, concerts and a chance to immerse yourself in pure culture.
There are also a lot of guided tours of the beautiful county for those that prefer to be hand held. These include coach and cab tours, walking and bus tours and the ultimate high speed boat trip along the Wicklow coastline.
If it’s a “chill out” and leisurely time that makes you feel good then why not just relax and enjoy the marvellous food and wines as you soak up the views and the peaceful surroundings of the garden County.
For ladies looking for pampering there’s a list as long as your arm of places to indulge, including spa treatments, massages, facials, manicures, mud chambers and whatever else gets your pulse racing.
There are also several fine leisure centres if your priority is keeping fit and working up an appetite.
Of course for the most important things in life, like stressing the plastic card and shopping there’s a great range of shopping arcades and large stores that stock internationally known brands. Moving away from the crowded areas you will find some very special shops providing designer fashion brands, jewellery and arts and crafts.
Wicklow has several farmers markets where artisan producers sell their products directly to the public.
On the activity front, variety is the spice of life. You can get your thrills doing cookery courses, golf, trekking on the mountains, day walks in the footfalls, guided hill walking, cycling in the Sallygap, kayaking on the Avonmore River, fishing, riding lessons, yoga sessions, guided tours of some of Ireland's greatest gardens or a visit to the sea life centre.
Hotels range from 5 star down and have all the modern facilities attached including spa treatments, leisure centres, great restaurants and classy bars.
There are lots of great guest houses, hostels and self catering for those that don’t want to get too formal.
