Welcome to Monaghan
With its close proximity to Dublin and the North, it's no wonder Monaghan has become such a popular destination for henparties.
Monaghan is easily accessible from all parts of the country.
You may not be the only henparty in town, but you are guaranteed a great night.
The town centre is small enough easy to get around but big enough to have plenty of fun.
Anyone that has had a henparty in Monaghan will tell you the people are extremely friendly and really good craic.
Chances of meeting a stag are high – never a bad thing….
With activities, such as golf, fishing, horseriding, cycling and watersports there is plenty on offer to chose for your henparty activity.
For the more adventurous henparty you can even go rallying in Monaghan.
Monaghan is mad - anywhere that hosts the first Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships has to be a bit different. Bog snorkelling, in case you didn't know, is where you swim a 55 metre distance in a bog, fastest woman wins.
In terms of culture you will be spoiled for choice –there are plenty of theatre and exhibition options to be found.
The Monaghan Rhythm and Blues Festival is held each September and has included Van Morrison and Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac in the past. Worth considering if you are having a September Hen!
Another great festival is the Flat Lake Festival held in Clones every August, just down the road.
With a population of nearly 10,000 Monaghan has plenty of choice in terms of restaurants. There are many to chose from with all the usual suspects inclusing Thai, Italian, French.
Likewise for pubs and clubs – the strong population means Monaghan has a plentiful array of options.
