Why Skibbereen?
Alternative hen
Skibb, as it's known to the locals is a rocking spot for an alternative hen. If you are looking for something unique and that isn't quite like all the other hen destinations then check it out. It is a buzzing market town with a huge leaning towards the arts. There is an amazing art festival every year and there are more and more artists and crafters heading down to West Cork to tap into the energy in Skibbereen. So if you fancy something a little alternative this could be the spot for you.
Unique things to do
Again, if you are looking for something a little different then Skibbereen could be 'the one'. There are so many beautiful and interesting things to see and visit nearby. Heir Island is only over the road and this tiny island is well worth a visit. Lough Hyne is also close by and has some of the most amazing bioluminescence that you can see by visiting at night with Atlantic Sea Kayaks. Or try whale watching on your hen and head to Baltimore to see these amazing creatures. Just 15 minutes from Skibbereen.
