Why Do Hens love Kilkenny?

I have said it time and time again we are blessed in this country with some incredible towns and cities for a Hen Party weekend. They’re dotted all over Ireland.

Out west we have Galway, in the South, we have Cork and Killarney. On the East Coast is Dublin and up north is the wonderful Belfast. And in the heart of the country is Kilkenny City. A city which is absolutely adored by Hens. So, I decided to look into it more. Why Do Hens Love Kilkenny?

We’ll start with the Hen Party activities

The hen party activity is often referred to as the centrepiece of the Hen. It’s usually an activity where everyone gets involved and try something new, relaxing, different or whacky. It’s all about having fun and enjoying yourself at the end of the day.

I’ve been on a few hen parties in Kilkenny and I’ve enjoyed a whole host of different hen party activities. Of course, I’ve gotten the night started with a Cocktail Making Class. I’ve tried to channel my inner artist to Paint a Nude. To be honest, I really didn’t showcase his best assets.

I got pampered with a Spa Day, delighted in some Afternoon Tea and I’ve even done Clay Pigeon Shooting on a Kilkenny Hen Party. I won’t lie it was brilliant fun and something so different for a Hen.

There is so much to choose from on a Kilkenny Hen and I think that’s why hen parties love coming here. Kilkenny has something to suit everyone’s needs, wants and tastes.

The Restaurants and Nightlife

I think one of the main reasons, for me personally anyway, that Kilkenny is held in such high regard by hens is the nightlife and vibe in the city. It’s a quite a compact city centre area with all the bars, restaurants and clubs. This leads to a great vibe on the street and everything is in walking distance too. The craic in the bars is incredible, you will be singing and dancing well into the early hours of the following day.

I’m struggling to remember the last time someone said to me they didn’t have a good night out in Kilkenny? You are bound to bump into another Hen and even a Stag on a night out there. But everyone is brilliant form and it will only enhance your memories of a fantastic hen party night and weekend.

Getting there

Often underestimated is the ease of getting to Kilkenny and more importantly getting home after a big party weekend. Kilkenny is served very well by both bus and rail should you fancy leaving the car at home. But if you’re planning a mini road trip then it’s pretty much motorway from all parts of Ireland to Kilkenny. So, when you finish work on Friday for a Kilkenny Hen, regardless of where you are, you’ll be enjoying the craic with the girls in no time.

So, why do hens love Kilkenny? I think it’s clear from above.
