Ask Claire; How to Plan a Hen 6 Months in Advance

Ask Claire Image 3 jpg
This week’s query comes in from Clodagh who needs to organise a hen party for her friend Anna and wants to book asap, only some of the girls going don’t want to pay right now.

“Hi Claire, thanks so much for taking the time to read my email. My name is Clodagh and I am planning a hen party for my friend Anna for May 2017. I really want to get the ball rolling and start booking all of us in as soon as possible to make sure that Anna gets the dream hen party. The only problem is the girls don’t want to pay anything until after Christmas! Please help!“

Claire's Advice
Hi Clodagh, thanks so much for the great question.

We always advise hen parties to book as early as possible to avoid any disappointment but it’s tricky when some people in the group don’t want to pay right now. Whether it is just not the right time for them to be forking out money on a weekend away in 6 months or anything else it’s important to look at things from their point of view.

A good idea may be to arrange with the accommodation and activity provider to just give them a booking deposit at the moment and that you will either pay the balance on arrival or a few weeks before. A deposit split between everyone will probably be a very small cost but will ensure that you and Anna get everything that you wanted for the weekend and the rest of the girls don’t have to pay too much right now.
