This week’s query comes in from Orla who has broken her leg and is going on a hen party in 2 weeks!

“Hi Claire, I recently broke my leg and I’m going on a hen party in 2 weeks! I don’t know what to do, I really want to go but I don’t want to slow down the group. What should I do? I’m really close to the bride to be and I really don’t want to let her down, please help me out! “

Claire's Advice
Hi Orla, thanks so much for the email.

You poor thing, hope you’re doing okay! I broke my leg before I know how tough it can be to try and go out with your friends.

First things first what activity are you doing? If it’s an activity where you can sit down and relax like Paint a Nude then there’s no real reason why you can’t do it. If it’s a dance class or something else a little more active this is probably not going to happen. This doesn’t mean you can’t go though, watching all the girls could be just as much fun.

If the group are going out for a wild night on the town as well this may not be the best option for you but if the plan is a nice meal and some quieter drinks then this could definitely work!

Be sure to weigh out all the pros and cons before making your decision. Make sure you look out for yourself, the last thing you want is for you to hurt yourself even more in the process of trying to keep the rest of the girls and the bride happy.

I would suggest that you talk to the bride to be, I’m sure that if you can’t make it then she’ll completely understand!
