Ask Claire; Should I Invite My Younger Cousins On My Hen?

This week’s query comes in from Beth, she has some younger cousins that are 16 and 17 and she doesn’t know whether to invite them or not to the hen party.

“Hi Claire, my name is Beth, I’m having my hen party in December and don’t know whether to invite my younger cousins. They are 16 and 17 and are really mature. We haven’t decided on an activity yet but I’m not sure will they be allowed to do everything. I need your advice!“

Claire’s Advice
Hi Beth, thanks so much for the brill question. The debate on whether to invite younger family members on your hen party is never-ending.

Most hen party activities don’t have an age restriction attached to them and some will even have a way that you can work around it. If you decide that you want to have a cocktail making class then that shouldn’t be a problem the barman can arrange to make mocktails for the girls. I would advise checking with the bar you are going to first though, just to be sure that you avoid any disappointment on the day.

It is important to note that pubs and clubs will refuse entry to people under the age of 18 so just be sure that the girls are aware of this before setting off on a big weekend away.

Deciding to bring younger relatives on the hen party is completely up to you there is no right or wrong answer here, just do whatever feels right for you.
