Dublin has a reputation of being the most expensive destination in Ireland to live or even just visit. And if we're honest one of the most expensive in Europe! But don't let this deter you from having a hen party in the big smoke. We've compiled some of the best ideas to have a Dublin Hen Without the Dublin Price Tag!

Go for a Hostel rather than a Hotel

Hostels aren't what they used to be ladies. These days hostels have everything a hotel has and sometimes more. Going for a hostel in Dublin rather than a hotel will save you a pretty penny! And let's face it when you're going to Dublin for your hen party you won't really be spending that much time in the accommodation so why splash out on a fancy hotel. Most likely you'll be just there to get ready to move onto your next activity or venue. There are loads of hostels around Dublin too within walking distance to everywhere you want to go! Or if you do want a hotel just make sure you don't go for the most expensive ones out there, there are loads of 3-star hotels that are perfect for a girls weekend away.

Don't Stay in Temple Bar All Night

Of course, Temple Bar is great with a buzzing atmosphere but it isn't the only place in Dublin with this! Prices of drinks in Temple Bar can set you back a few euro extra than venues in Harcourt Street or somewhere else in the city. Why not head to Temple Bar for one or two drinks to kick off the night and then move on. You'll get the taste of it without spending a fortune all night, plus Temple Bar can be full of tourists so if you wanted to chat to some locals this might not be for you. The best of both worlds if you ask us!

Plan As Much As Possible In Advance

Making sure that you have everything planned, that you can plan in advance of the hen party, makes everything ten times easier ladies. You can haggle with all your venue choices prior to arriving meaning you get the best price. As well as this you'll get the opportunity to shop around if they can't give you the best value! By booking things in advance as well you will avoid any disappointment of places being booked out or unable to accommodate your group. By organising everything ahead of the hen you'll be able to let all the group know exactly how much it will cost and give them time to pay it off instead of making them fork it out on the hen weekend!
